Tyler brings sun into Nanny's life
A grandmother has nominated her grandson for an award for bringing a daily ray of sunshine into her life.
When the Evening Telegraph launched the Ray of Sunshine awards last week, we asked readers to let us know who brings sunshine into their lives, whether the person was eight or 80.
Rose Walster got in touch to say she has her very own ray of sunshine – grandson Tyler Collymore-Walster.
She said Tyler, who will celebrate his second birthday tomorrow, brightens up her day and helps put a little bit of sunshine into her life.
Mrs Walster, of Marlborough Avenue in Wellingborough, is disabled, having had both her legs amputated at the beginning of the year.
While this and other health issues can often leave her feeling quite down, she says there is nothing like the sight of little Tyler greeting her with the words "'ello Nanny" to help put a smile back on her face.
She said: "He is very, very loving to everyone. I get so depressed and he pulls me right up.
"He comes in and I could be really depressed, then he comes in and cuddles my stumps and he immediately cheers me up.
"He starts playing and having fun and all of a sudden the misery is gone.
"He is a ray of sunshine to everyone but he is particularly a ray of sunshine to me."
