Stocks stunt for soaked radio presenter

Comic Relief kicked off in Corby when a radio presenter volunteered to stick himself in the pillory in aid of the charity.

Bob Walmsley put himself through the ordeal yesterday to give listeners to his weekday BBC Radio Northampton programme the chance to get their own back for his outspoken views.

People were invited to go along and throw wet sponges at him and raise money for Comic Relief at the same time.

He said: "The management must be trying to tell me something.

"I was just told to wear waterproof clothes and be prepared to take a battering."

Bob has also offered to shave off his much-loved beard, which he's been growing for the last six months, if listeners stumped up enough money.
