Search continues for missing Oundle mum Gillian Merrick
Up to 50 police officers and members of the public joined in as the search for a woman who went missing on New Year's Day was stepped up.
Police are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of Gillian Merrick, of Oundle, who disappeared from her home last Thursday.
Work colleagues, friends and family helped in the search at Barnwell Country Park and spots alongside the A605 yesterday where Mrs Merrick is known to have walked.
Trained police search dogs have also been drafted in from Wales to help look for the 45-year-old mother of two.

Insp Gary Williams, from Northamptonshire Police, said: "I cannot stress enough that the longer that Gillian is missing, the more concerned we are for her welfare.
"At the moment, Gillian going missing is completely out of character. There's no reason to believe at this stage that there is any third party involved in Gillian going missing. She just appears to have left the family address.
"She has recently had a back problem which has resulted in her taking lots of walks and we know she went walking in the local area often two or three times a day and hence that's the focus of much of our searching in the last 72 hours in particular.
"It's about checking areas where Gillian would have walked, like Barnwell County Park and the areas around the home address."
Insp Williams also had an important message for nearby businesses in Oundle and the Nene Valley Business Park.
He said: "We are asking local businesses returning after the New Year break who may have been opening up for the first time just to check outbuildings, the local area, and the ground around their buildings to see if there's any sign of Gillian or anything that may look suspicious or they think might be of interest to the police."
Mrs Merrick is employed as an engineer in Thorpe Wood, Peterborough, where her husband also works as an engineer.
She is described as about 5ft 6in, of slim build, fair complexion and with collar-length brown, straight hair.
Anyone with any information about her disappearance should contact police on 08453 700700.
