Phil Hope: I'm sorry
Phil Hope has said how sorry he is to his constituents after deciding to pay back £41,709 he has claimed in expenses over the past five years.
Mr Hope has decided to pay back the money in a bid to start the process of restoring public trust in him.
The Corby and East Northamptonshire MP took the decision after discussing the matter with his wife Allison and is making arrangements for the money to be paid back in about a week.

Speaking to the Evening Telegraph, he said: "To have your integrity talked about in this way by people behind the back of their hands has been awful. I am sorry that I have given people cause to think that way and I hope that the action I have taken may help restore people's confidence in me."
Mr Hope had earlier issued a statement in which he said he could not allow the trust and relationships he has built with the people of Corby and East Northamptonshire to be ruined by this episode.
The MP did not consult the Prime Minister about his decision but did inform senior Government officials.
Local Labour Party officials backed Mr Hope.
Corby and East Northants Constituency Labour Party chairman, Robert Douglas, said: "It is the mark of the man that he is planning to repay all expenses relating to the fitting, furniture and household items of his London flat – expenses to which he was legally and morally entitled."
