Karate kids put in classic performance

Rokakai karate team recently travelled to Manchester to compete in the Northern Open Classic.

The team faced tough opposition with England and Scotland team members present; Michael Steele took gold and bronze in events showing great form.

Lonnie Kilgallon, fighting in the under nines, won silver in a category with more than 50 competitors.

Robert Williams took bronze, just lost out for silver to an England team member.

"I am keeping the team members busy, with competitions every month gaining as much experience as we can," said coach Brian Holland.

"We are hoping for even more success in 2009."

Rokakai train in Rothwell and Corby and anyone interested in learning karate can speak to Brian on 07952 879613.
