A pupil from Irthlingborough Junior School came up trumps when he was announced as the winner of a police run competition.

Eight-year-old Jordan Coles was presented with a certificate and a gaming voucher by PCSO Lisa Dickerson after he won the Top Trumps scheme.

Based on the Top Trumps card game, the competition was run by police to encourage children to get to know their officers.

Youngsters from schools across East Northamptonshire were encouraged to collect 11 cards from PCSOs or officers on duty. Each card has information about a different officer including scores for their pedal power, foot power, problem solving, agility and strength.

Jordan’s teacher, Michaela Goodall, said: “He was very pleased when his name was drawn as the winner.”
