Hunt for ghostly soldier of 1645
Paranormal investigators in Northampton will be on the look-out for the spirit of an officer killed in Collingtree in 1645 at a special heritage weekend.
A re-enactment of the run-up to The Battle of Naseby will start on Friday in Collingtree village, where soldiers took over The Wooden Walls of Old England pub on their way to fight in the civil war.
In 1645, troops were based at the pub where one officer was killed in a brawl, and his ghost is still believed to wander the village in search of his comrades.
Sir William Pennyman's Regiment of Foot will perform drills and demonstrations throughout the weekend, as well as guided walks through the historic village.

Events start at 10am on Saturday and Sunday, and a heritage bus service will leave St Giles Square in Northampton at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm.
