Graffiti on homes will be painted over

Graffiti which is believed to be racist has been scrawled on homes in Wellingborough.

The letters PLM have been written on the walls of houses in Vivian Road and Newcomen Road.

John Casserly, head of environmental services at Wellingborough Council, said the graffiti would be painted over within a few days.

He said: “We are aware of the graffiti and have made contact with the property owners in Vivian Road, as before we can remove, or paint over such incidents, we have to have to obtain the property owners permission.

“We strive to remove any offensive graffiti within 24 hours but it is not always so straightforward.”

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: “Graffiti can be a form of anti-social behaviour, it can detrimentally affect the quality of life for people living in an area, is unsightly and can increase the fear of crime.

“Any form of graffiti is unacceptable but especially graffiti that may be racist, rude or offensive.”

@aliss - I've had a search, but even the knuckledraggers that populate those sites don't seem to know what is stands for

In my field, it's one of those silly TLAs that service management use to describe "looking after software" - Product Lifecycle Management. Try whacking it into google though, you'll find a meaning on the assorted racist scum sites out there.

You think PLM is bad, near to where I live painted on the walls is RXY obviously this was aimed at the small white English community living on our estate. This form of graffiti is unacceptable but especially graffiti that is racist, rude or offensive particular as this is aimed at the white community who have welcomed black and ethnic minorities into this country and small minority repay us by putting RXY on our walls.

Given the average level of intelligence in Rushden, its probably the initials of the graffiti artist. Mind you, theres no address and phone number so it must be one of the higher functioning individuals.

Agreed. The 'PLM' may be the tag of a graffiti artist, rather than have some sort of racist meaning.

What's racist about 'PLM'? Around where I live, one prolific artist has sprayed his name everywhere, regardless of who was living in the property.
