Faryl expects to release second album this year
Faryl Smith has already achieved every girl's dream, but at just 13 she is already getting ready to record a second album.
With the Kettering teenager's first album expected to go platinum, Faryl is expected to release a second later this year.
She will start recording in August following an incredible year for the Britain's Got Talent finalist.
The Southfield School for Girls pupil told the Evening Telegraph: "We're starting to look at what songs will be on the second album.
"I'm not really choosing the songs myself, I'm leaving that up to the people at the record label. I'm really happy that they want me to do another album so soon – I didn't think I would be working on one so quickly after the first one was released.
"I'm just excited to get under way with it."
Faryl's first, self-titled, album has sold 170,000 copies so far but there are hopes it will sell 300,000.
Dad Tony Smith said: "The record company is very happy with what she's done so far. She's absolutely loving it.
"We want her to have a couple of weeks off in the school holidays because once she starts recording it's quite full-on.
"She wants to thank everyone who has supported her."
It's been another hectic few weeks for the young opera singer, who joined the stars on the red carpet at the recent premiere of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
She also joined a host of celebrities at a polo match hosted by former glamour model Jordan.
This weekend she performed again with Katherine Jenkins and coming up is a three-day Saga cruise around Denmark where she will sing to passengers.
Mr Smith said it is a full-time job for his mother-in-law to compile scrapbooks of all Faryl's activity – she is already on her 12th book.
