Distraction burglary in Corby
Police in Corby have issued an artists' impression of a man they want to speak to in connection with a distraction burglary that took place in Beanfield Avenue in the town.
A man gained access to the home of a 87-year-old woman and 90-year-old man by claiming to be from the waterboard.
He said he needed to check the water in the property and went into the kitchen. He then said he needed to check the living room, at which point the victims became suspicious.
Just as they were asking him to leave they spotted another man in the property and both left.
The victims then discovered their home had been searched and cash stolen.
The offenders were both white men, around 20 years old and around 5ft7" tall. The one in the artists' impression was dressed in a pinstripe dark coloured shirt and dark coloured trousers. He spoke with an eastern European accent.
The incident happened on Saturday 12 November between 4.45pm to 5pm.
Witnesses or anyone who may recognise the description of these offenders is asked to contact police on 03000 111 222 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
