Dancing On Ice star launches Abington Street run
Dancing On Ice star Natalie Pinkham left her skates behind when she helped launch Northampton's very own charity fund-raiser.
The TV presenter, aged 29, launched the Northampton Sport Relief Mile in Abington Street, joined by Northampton Saints mascot Bernie and Cobblers mascot Clarence.
She said: "Anything I can do to support Sport Relief is great and to combine that with my local town is an honour. I'm looking forward to it."
After running her Sport Relief Mile in Northampton, Natalie will return to London to take part at the Dancing On Ice finals the same day.
Natalie said: "I'm not going to be able to do any more than a mile . . . I've got to do a big skating routine that night and they have told me not to get injured before it."
The Northampton Sport Relief Mile will be run on March 16 to raise money for Comic Relief. It takes place in Abington Street at 10.30am, with registration starting at 9am.
The event has been organised by the borough council. There are three different lengths – one mile, three miles or six miles – and participants do not have to run to take part. To enter call 0845 605 8000 or visit www.sportrelief.com.
