Dad and partner of murdered man urge killer to reveal body dump site
Family members of murder victim Danny Hathaway have urged his killer to tell them where his body is so they can finally have some closure.
Today, on the fifth anniversary of the father-of-two’s disappearance, Danny’s family are making the impassioned plea to murderer Tony Holland to reveal Danny’s final resting place.
Holland, of Desborough, denied killing the 44-year-old whose disappearance from a Traveller site in Gretton Brook Road, Corby, back in February 2007 sparked a massive murder hunt.
In 2008 Holland, who was then 23, was found guilty of the murder at Ipswich Crown Court and a ruling was made that he must serve a minimum of 35 years.
From that day to this, he has refused to admit to the murder or say where Danny’s remains lie.
The Rev Kenneth Hathaway, who lives in Shropshire, said: “It is five years ago today since my son Daniel was murdered but the man convicted of killing him still refuses to say where he hid the body. This means that for his partner, and for his two children who are now growing up, as well as for the rest of his family and his friends there can be no closure.
“This makes our suffering so much more acute. No grave, no place of remembrance, and no understanding of how or why he was killed by someone he knew through his business and trusted.
“Danny would be 50 years old if he had lived.
“We are in limbo and can’t grieve properly. There can be no closure for us until we know where Danny is.”
Diane Furey, Danny’s partner and mother of their two children Sam, 16, and Ellie May, 11, said: “Please, for the sake of my children, tell us where Danny is. They have questions that I cannot answer. There is so much that I cannot explain and it is cruel. We want the man responsible to give us the information we need.”

But on this day of all days you are back at the beginning of this nightmare that has changed our lives forever. Dan was larger than life and a real maverick and missed by so many. We know that there are people out there who know where his body is, please let us find him, let us free to celebrate his unique life.
