Cyclist killed in hit and run accident is named

A cyclist who died after a collision with a car has been named. Christopher Ashman, 47, of Headlands, Kettering, died after the collision with a black Ford Mondeo on the road between Thorpe Malsor and Kettering on Wednesday night.

The driver of the Mondeo failed to stop at the scene of the collision and the vehicle was found abandoned a short time later in Thorpe Malsor.

A 35-year-old man was arrested last night in connection with the collision, interviewed, and has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
