Man stable after crash

A 45-year-old Wellingborough man was seriously injured after a blue Mercedes car was involved in a collision with a tree near Sywell.

Police are appealing for information about the incident, which happened on Friday morning at around 7.10am on a country road between Sywell and Little Harrowden.

The driver was airlifted to the Walsgrave Hospital, in Coventry, where his condition was described as critical but stable.

Police are trying to trace the occupants of a white Ford Transit-sized flatbed vehicle that stopped at the scene of the collision.
