End of year treat for wrestling fans

Grappling fans will be descending on Rushden for a wrestling group's last show of the year.

Wrestling heroes from the East Anglian Wrestling Group are preparing to entertain hundreds of fans at their last American wrestling show of the year.

The event will be taking place at the Pemberton Centre in H E Bates Way on Saturday and will include appearances by favourites the Black Heart Rudi, extreme rules champion Mr J and A* Poole.

Event organiser Nick Ashberry, aka Special Agent, said: "This is our last show this year and it will be a fantastic night out for the family.

"It is really entertaining, the production values are the best in the country and it is great value for money.

"We've been to the Pemberton Centre before and whenever we've put on our shows there the atmosphere has always been amazing.

"We have already sold well over 100 tickets so there will be a big attendance and it should be a fantastic night."

The group's previous shows at the Pemberton Centre have attracted more than 300 fans.

Among the highlights at the event will be a tables, ladders and chairs match where contenders will battle it out to use the objects to reach the heavyweight championship belt which will be suspended from the ceiling.

Tickets for the show cost 8 for adults, with 6 concessions. A family ticket for two adults and two children costs 24.

They will be available on the door or at Entertainment Base, in High Street, Rushden.

Doors will open at 7pm and the show is expected to begin at about 8pm.
