Beanz meanz fun for bubbly Louise

Super fundraiser Louise Smart certainly hasn't bean here before in serach of charity cash.

Not only has the mother-of-three pledged to strip down to her bikini and sit in a bath of beans – but she's also preparing to auction herself off as a slave for the night.

The 25-year-old is raisng money for Chelsea Knighton, an Irthlingborough three-year-old who suffers from neuroblastoma, a rare and potentially fatal cancer.

Chelsea's family need to raise 250,000 so she can get specialised medical treatment in America, where her chances of surviving after stateside treatment would increase from 20 per cent in the UK to 60 per cent.

Louise, of Kestral Lane, Wellingborough, said: "This is the first time I've done anything like this.

"I wanted to do something a bit crazy and different and of all the fundraising ideas I came up with my kids thought the baked beans was the funniest, so I decided to go for it."

She heard about the Knightons' struggle to raise money for Chelsea by chance and told the Evening Telegraph: "I was friends with Alison Malin, Chelsea's auntie, throughout my childhood.

"I got back in touch with her through Facebook, and she sent me a link to a page about Chelsea.

"I guess it just struck a chord with me. My little boy Bradley has only turned three and it is really a heart-breaking story.

"So I wrote to Alison and told her I would do anything I could to help."

Louise will be taking her bath between 9am and 5pm on September 14, at JJ's in Higham Ferrers.

But she's not just content with sitting in a cold, slimy tub of beans for a day, so she also organised a fundraising event at Level 3 nightclub in Kettering in October.

She said: "On the night we're going to have a human auction, where people can bid to have someone as their slave for the night.

"I've been frantically trying to get everyone I know to volunteer.

"I will be auctioning myself off and I have a male friend who works as a topless waiter in London who's agreed to take part.

"I'm also working on persuading some firemen to donate their services.

"I want everybody to know how grateful I am for all their help.

"Level 3 agreed to let me use the club for free and I will be charging 5 entry.

"All the proceeds will go to Chelsea's appeal.

"Hopefully we can all get together and make a difference to Chelsea's life."

Miss Smart is also looking for businesses to donate baked beans and also for anyone who wants to take part in the human auction.
