Confirmed case of swine flu at Corby nursery
A girl at a Corby nursery has been diagnosed with swine flu and all parents have been sent letters of advice about the virus.
The youngster is a pupil at Exeter Nursery which is attached to Exeter Primary School in Brayford Avenue.
A letter to parents has been sent out reassuring them that the majority of cases are minor and not serious.
Headteacher Geraldine Lewendon has written: "I am aware that there has been a case of swine flu diagnosed in nursery.
"We realise this is causing increased anxiety in parents and some school staff.
"There is increased knowledge about the virus, in particular transmission and an awareness that the virus can spread very easily, as with seasonal flu.
"However, it is also apparent that in the majority of cases the illness is fairly mild and in response to this the approach to managing cases has changed."
