Abi Titmuss helps put Kettering charity show in pole position
Celebrities have been rehearsing their moves for a star-studded charity performance.
Former Emmerdale and You've Been Framed actor Lisa Riley has been busy perfecting her lines in rehearsals at Kettering's Lighthouse Theatre alongside Hollyoaks' Julie Buckfield, model and actress Abi Titmuss and Trudie Goodwin from The Bill.
They are putting the finishing touches to the comedy show The Naked Truth which tells the story of a group of women at a pole dancing class as they get ready for a competition.
The production also features Mersey Beat's Lorraine Hodgson and Coronation Street star Emily Aston
The premiere of the show will be in Kettering on Saturday, March 7, before it heads off on a national tour.
Proceeds will go towards the Crazy Hats Breast Cancer Appeal, which raises cash to improve breast cancer care at Kettering and Northampton general hospitals.
Trudie Goodwin said: "The play is about many things. It's about breast cancer and it's treated in a very sensitive way that will make people laugh a lot."
Director Stephen Leatherland said: "Trudy's character is someone who has had to deal with breast cancer and the show empowers people in that way."
Abi Titmuss, who plays Gabby, added: "It's a comedy about six women. I'm the teacher of a pole dancing class and the five women are struggling hilariously to conquer pole dancing in order to raise money for charity.
"We all struggle, but it's an uplifting and poignant story."
The stars of the show will also be donating hats to Crazy Hats, which will be auctioned to raise funds.
Charity founder Glennis Hooper of Wellingborough said: "We're delighted the show has chosen to support us and we're looking forward to the first night."
The show will mark the first anniversary of the theatre's opening, before returning to the The Lighthouse for a three-night run from April 9 to April 11.
