Help protect the countryside
PEOPLE interested in the countryside can play their part in protecting its future.
The county branch of the Wildlife Trust holds volunteer working parties for people of all ages and abilities.
On Wednesday, February 1, a work group will be clearing areas of King’s Wood in Corby, a remnant of the ancient Rockingham Forest.
Other working parties will be meeting next month at Pitsford Reservoir, Short Wood in Oundle, The Plens at Desborough, Twywell Hills and Dales and Ditchford Lakes.
Volunteers are asked to wear suitable clothing and footwear and to take along a packed lunch.
The trust supplies all the tools needed and provides training and supervision during the tasks.
