Faryl sings duet on ‘Welsh X-Factor’
FARYL Smith will appear on X-Factor runner up Rhydian Robert’s new talent show next Wednesday.
The Kettering mezzo-soprano will appear on Rhydian’s Autumn Series on Welsh channel S4C, which is available on Sky and cable, at 9.30pm.
Faryl, 16, who got to the final of Britain’s Got Talent 2008, recorded two songs for the show, including her first duet with baritone Rhydian, in October.
She sang The Prayer with the classically trained Welsh singer and Barcarolle from her second album, Wonderland.
Classical stars Aled Jones, Paul Potts and Hayley Westenra will also appear on the series, which has been dubbed The Welsh X Factor.
Faryl, who is studying for her A-Levels at Southfield School for Girls, Kettering, performed at St Luke’s Church, Chelsea, in front of BBC Middle East editor Jeremy Bowen and actors Edward Fox and Patricia Hodge in a Christmas carol service in aid of Asthma UK on Tuesday last week.
This Tuesday she sang with the Downton Abbey cast in aid of Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.
