Top food hygiene rating for school

A PRIMARY school has been awarded the top hygiene rating just five months after it started cooking and serving hot meals to its pupils.

Woodford Church of England Primary School has been rated five out of five for food hygiene after a visit from East Northamptonshire Council’s environmental health inspectors.

Headteacher Arlette Harvey said: “Last month we had a visit from environmental health and were awarded the highest food rating of five. I think it is worth celebrating.”

The village school only started cooking food on site last September.

A report on the inspection said: “The hygiene rating shows how closely the business is meeting the requirements of food hygiene law.”
