Little Sherlocks find the missing rabbit

Children became detectives during Little Sherlocks Days to investigate the mystery of a missing rabbit.

Youngsters from Irchester Primary School and Earls Barton Infants School used techniques, including fingerprinting to hunt down the person responsible for taking the rabbit.

There were six pupils from Year 6 who were suspects, as they were last seen in the area where the rabbit disappeared from.

The children also used techniques including chromatography, which separates inks and helped them to work out which of the suspects’ pens had been used to write a note confessing to taking the rabbit.

The event was held as part of Lab_13, a project being run at Irchester Primary School which makes science a creative subject.

Lab_13 scientist in residence at the school Jennifer Hogan said: “At the end all the parents came in and the children presented their work. The children were very busy all day long looking for different clues.”
