A pretty schoolgirl from Pytchley has flowing blonde locks comparable with a fairytale princess.

But on Saturday 13-year-old Amy Foster is set to have her waist-length tresses chopped off to raise money for a girl suffering from cerebral palsy.

The Brooke Weston school pupil is to get her hair cut at Paul Williams in Victoria Street, Kettering. She hopes the money raised will help three-year-old Lexie Fordyce have a life-changing operation.

The girl’s mother Lisa is running an appeal to raise £40,000 to pay for surgery in America so the young girl can walk.

Amy, of Lower End, said: “My hair has got too long and I’m ready to have it cut.

“But this also gives me the opportunity to raise cash for someone else.”
