Exhibition takes you back to school days
BURTON LATIMER, Heritage Museum at Civic Centre in High St, new exhibition about school life since the 1930s starts today, contact John Meads
An exhibition of school and classroom memorabilia has opened at a county museum.
Time for School and Time to Play started on Saturday at Burton Latimer Heritage Museum, at the Civic Centre in High Street.
The museum held a session for people to drop items off earlier this month and, following appeals in the Evening Telegraph for things to add to the exhibition, has had a good response.
John Meads from the museum said: “The first day of the exhibition went very well and we had a good crowd in.
“Everybody seemed to be very interested in everything that we had collected.
“All the items and photographs were bringing back memories and a couple of people did bring some more in on Saturday.”
The exhibition explores the lives of school children since the 1930s.
It is open from 10am to 1pm on Saturdays and Thursdays and from 1.30pm to 4.30pm on the last Sunday of each month.
