Dance crazy as pupils perform for charities
Youngsters slipped on their dancing shoes to perform for charity.
Pupils aged from five to 18 took part in the first group dance show organised by the Kettering Area Improvement Partnership, which aims to bring young people of all ages and abilities together.
Children from nine schools put on the show called A Colourful community at Southfield School for Girls in Kettering.
The sell-out show managed to raise more than 1,000 for charities around Kettering which were nominated by the children taking part.
Organiser Julie Goswell said: "We were delighted to host this event. The event has given children aged from Year 1 to Year 12 the chance to work together
"Children who don't always get the opportunity to dance and perform have really enjoyed themselves, gained new experiences and met new friends.
"This is the first event of this kind where community partnerships have worked across such a range of ages."
Schools involved were St Thomas More Primary, St Edward's Primary, Millbrook Infants, Kingsley Special School, Henry Gotch Primary, Hawthorn Community Primary, Wren Spinney, Hall Meadow Primary and Southfield, all Kettering.
Each school put together different parts of the show and the performers met for the first time on Sunday to put the finishing touches to the piece before the final display on Tuesday.
It was such a success the partnership could make it an annual performance, incorporating more children from a greater number of schools.
