Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a 13-year-old boy was robbed in Kettering

A teenage scooter user has been robbed at knifepoint by a gang of distinctive young men who tried to steal his mobile phone.

At around 6.30pm on Sunday, April 18, the boy was riding a scooter in Edinburgh Road when he was approached by three males, one of whom was carrying a knife.

One of the trio took the victim’s bag and removed his mobile phone and a set of air pods from it, before the victim was able to grab back his phone and ride away.

A spokesman for Northants Police said: "The first suspect is described as a white man aged around 19, 6ft, of heavy build with a stubbly beard and a large gap in his front teeth.

"He wore a black Ellesse tracksuit and black Nike trainers.

"The second suspect is described as a light-skinned mixed race boy aged 17, 5ft 9in, of skinny build with dark hair worn in a high top style.

"He had a diamond stud in his left ear, and wore a dark blue Nike jumper with matching tracksuit bottoms, and bright white trainers.

"The third suspect, who carried the knife, is described as a dark-skinned mixed race boy aged 16, 5ft 7in, of skinny build.

"He had both ears pierced with diamond studs and had a long scar to his left forearm. He wore a white t-shirt, grey tracksuit bottoms and black Nike trainers, with a blue face mask.

"He was riding a red and silver mountain bike with black handlebars."
