Paranormal investigation at Tasty Bites, Kettering
On Wednesday 17th June at 10-30pm Northamptonshire Paranormal Investigation Team kitted out and headed towards Tasty Bites in Market Street Kettering Northants, 'Why' you may ask, well read this.
"Tasty Bites restaurant in Market Street, Kettering, is thought to be one of the town's oldest buildings.
Legend has it that in the 18th century a party of soldiers was staying in The Duke's Arms, which stood opposite where Tasty Bites is now. There was a young drummer boy with the soldiers. He wasn't used to drinking alcohol and became drunk, getting involved in an argument with one of the soldiers. He was dragged outside and stabbed to death in an alleyway. That alleyway is now the entrance to Tasty Bites and the boy's ghost is said to haunt the building.
Several owners of the building have reported feeling uneasy in the premises and have noted strange occurrences, including mysterious noises, especially in the stock room, and sudden drops in temperature."
We Arrived at Tasty Bites about 10-45pm it was just getting dark, There was myself Angie President of the Spiritual Group at the Willows Corby The Angels of Light, Elaine a veteran Medium who has been working in Spiritual Churches years, Wayne and Neil both novice but well adapt Mediums and my Daughter Natasha.
We had already done a recce of the premises and spoke to the owner earlier that day and had worked out where we where going to place the four infrared night cameras, also knowing where the hot spots where, or places of Paranormal activity. We set up a trigger object a two pence piece laying on a sheet of paper and very close to the coin we drew around it, if the coin was moved the slightest we would know. We had explained to us that day the salt and pepper cruets where moved and found to be on the floor, so we placed two sets of movement detectors on two tables covering two sets of cruets. Natasha took first shift at watching the camera's as we always make our base at the place with the least bit of Paranormal activity, how do we know where that is……………….. we are all Mediums!
We split up into two teams of two, one team down stairs and one up stairs. I was down stairs and the other team was in the court yard, Wayne was on the cameras, when I observed a black shadow appear at the top of the stairs and then shoot away as if surprised to see us, I tried to get the as quick as I could but found no evidence of anything. As I was slowly walking down the stairs I was aware of a young person giggling right behind me, I said "Are you laughing at me" and it sounded again right next to me ear, I waited but nothing else sounded, we where using our digital hand held recorders to see if we could pick up some EVP, or Electronic Voice Phenomena. As we where unpacking our equipment, no one had been up the stairs at this time, clearly you could hear foot steps and a door open and close, I said to my other Investigators, "Wow, we're off to a quick start tonight guys", First up where the four camera's covering the two floors and the landing on the stairs then we split up into two teams, one team upstairs and one down. I was up stairs with Elaine and Angie, Wayne and Neil where down stairs. An hour went by quietly, only disturbed by a few drunken late night revellers. At 1135pm I was using a K2 meter (This is used to make someone aware that someone from the Spirit World is near) when I said "Is anyone there" and the lights flickered, no much just slightly, I then said "How many of you are here who have died" and the lights flickered twice, I then asked, I want to talk to the drummer boy who died how old are you and started going from one, when I got to 14 they again flickered, I asked then "Where you stabbed" again the lights flickered, in amongst this I was asking questions with no response such as, " Did you come from around here", nothing, I then asked "Do you want us to go", nothing, I then asked "Is it you that is moving things around here", the lights flickered, after this there was no more response.
At 1248 I was sitting down stairs facing the stairs with Angie and Natasha, when I observed a black shadowy figure appear at the top of the stairs and then shoot back up, at this time I heard Wayne who was watching the cameras call out on the radio, " My God did anybody see that" I was already on my way up the stairs and replied " I did Wayne and I am after it now", I did a full sweep of the up stairs using an EMP meter and using an EVP device as I was slowly coming down the stairs I head like a giggling behind me and I stopped on the stirs and it became freezing cold, I said " Is that you giggling at me" and again very clear I heard a young giggling again and then the temperature returned to normal.
At 0140 Angie and Wayne was investigating up stairs when Angie contacted me by radio and said " This trigger object has been moved, the two pence piece is right out of the circle it was drawn around" ( The trigger object was placed in a corner out of the way so it could not be accidentally knocked).
At 0200 we stopped for some refreshments and everyone met downstairs, no one was up stairs, as we sat and chatted as to the night's events, very definite we all could hear a chair being dragged out of place.
At 0310 No more activity recorded we called it a night and lights on.
On Monday 22nd June we visited Tasty Bites again in the day and spoke to Sarah, she listened to the recording of the giggling and confirmed that was the same giggling as she and her staff had heard. Would love to do another investigation of Tasty Bites again, are the premises Haunted, a definite yes.
