In the arms of an angel
My Mother is 93 and has had a broken hip five years ago, ever since she has had problems with walking.
About four weeks ago, my Mother fell again and was rushed into hospital as she had damaged the same hip and also banged her head. An ambulance was called and Mum taken to hospital. We did not realise the shock this fall had caused, as Mum was worried that she had broken her hip joint again. We where aware that Mum had kidney problems but she took medication for that and they seemed under control.
I had to leave to work in Germany, near the Dutch border, where I was doing an Evening of Clairvoyance a three day's course on Psychic/Medium development and many readings. This stay should have been for seven day's , we arrived in Dortmund my wife Evelyn and myself and was met and greeted by an old friend, John Vhal, please see issue date of the Eveni ng Telegraph website on 07 April 2008, titled Visions and Predictions where Mr Vhal is mentioned.
I arrived on the Friday and began the three day course on Saturday and finished on Monday night, I then did an Evening of Clairvoyance in a hotel on Tuesday but in the early hours of Wednesday morning I received a telephone call from my Daughter Natasha, 'Please come home quick Dad, Nan is in Kettering hospital and the Doctors don't think she has long to go", I was frantically trying to get a flight home on Wednesday but could not return until the Thursday.
On the way home we passed through Kettering and stopped at the hospital, there was nurses and Doctors everywhere, "Your Mother has just had five heart attacks one after the other" a Doctor said, also her kidneys are only working at about 2% and she has a severe chest infection", I went to Mum' s bed and her breathing was so erratic, although she knew I was there she could not talk. I sat there all night with my wife Evelyn and Natasha my Daughter, expecting Mum to pass away at every second.
As the dawn came , I sat outside the ward and called in the Angels to help, I asked for Ark Angel Michael to give her strength, Raphael to heal, if not to make my Mother Better then to help with her transition to the Spirit World also Gabriel I asked her to help Mum with all the toxins in her body due to her kidneys not working properly.
I returned to Mum's bedside her breathing was laborious and still so erratic but she had made it through the night. We had to go home shower change and make sure the house was OK.
After that we returned later in the day, Mum's was st ruggling, her Doctor said, "If anyone has not seen your Mother and they wish to, now is the time" I returned to Mum's bedside and she was whispering, I could not hear her so I bent my ear to her mouth and she whispered " How long" I said "What" she replied in a whisper hardly audible, "How long have I" I tried not to let her see my tears, I said "Your going nowhere, is it worth fighting for", Mum whispered "What" in-between fighting for her breath I said again, "Mum is life worth fighting for Mum nodded, I said "If you don't quit I won't quit OK", she smiled and nodded again, by then my Daughters Craig and my Son and my in law Michael had arrived.
I took a walk with Evelyn and had a coffee, when we returned they had gone, I sat with Mum all afternoon and Mum again was trying to say something so again I bent to hear what she was saying, she asked what that music was. I listened and sure enough I could hea r music from the next ward and as I listened the beautiful sound of that lovely song 'Laying in the arms of an Angel' wafted through the ward, I asked the nurse where the music was coming from and she replied they have a radio on in the next ward.
Thursday night came and again Evelyn and myself sat with Mum until 2 in the morning when the Nursed explained that her sats, (Blood, Oxygen etc.) where settling down, they would need our telephone number, just in case, so I kissed Mum and we went home and slid into bed, I was asleep in a second. On the Friday we returned to the hospital arriving at about 9-00am, we had had no breakfast not even a coffee.
I saw the Doctor with Mum and waited until he had finished when I asked how Mum is doing, he replied " I don't understand, by all accounts she should not be here, she is still seriously ill and we could lose her in the next heart beat but for now, she is remaining the same, I was elated by the news, "Let's go for breaky I said to Evelyn" and off we went, I stood in the queue of the WRVS shop and from the back room I could hear music again and once more the song "Laying in the arms of an Angel" was being sung. I smiled to myself and whispered a heart felt 'Thank you '.
Well it's Saturday today as I write this and Mum is sitting up in bed this morning I have been told by the nurses, she has had some toast and a cup of coffee, 93, five heart attacks, kidneys only working at 2 %, a raging chest infection. Do I believe in Angels............................ You'd better believe it.
