Budding actors and dancers were given the chance to quiz a course leader from one of the country’s top performing arts universities.

The course leader, students and a technician from Colchester Institute’s Music Theatre course were all on hand to answer questions from the second and final year students at Tresham College in Kettering.

A demonstration and performance then followed the workshop.

More than 30 students took part in the workshop on Tuesday at the college’s campus in Windmill Avenue, Kettering.

Some performing arts students at the college have applied to Colchester Institute to study there and the workshop gave them a good opportunity to find out about learning at degree level.

Kim Hooper, who is the performing arts course tutor at the college, said: “The workshop went really well and all of the students enjoyed themselves and found it a valuable event.

“They asked questions about studying at degree level, and were able to speak to the course leader, which was great as some students have applied to the university.”
