A 37-year-old woman was struck with a golf club during a robbery that happened as she was walking home from work.

The woman was on a footpath at the rear of warehouses at Rhosili Road on the Brackmills Industrial Estate at about 4.15pm on Thursday 3 July when someone came up behind her and struck her on the back of the head with a golf clulb before taking her handbag and making off.

The offender was a white man aged around 20 years old and slim. He was 5ft 7ins tall with short blond hair and was wearing a grey sweatshirt and grey bottoms.

Police in Northampton are appealing for witnesses, either on the industrial estate or passing on the A45 or in the Bedford Road roundabout area who may have seen this man and be able to give any further information about him or identify him. Anyone who can help should call Police on 08453 700700 or Crimestoppers, where they can give information anonymously, on 0800 555111.
