Two students and a teacher from Higham Ferrers will travel to Uganda next week for an international conference.
Ferrers Specialist Arts College Year 13 students Angie O'Sullivan and Lizzie Usher, will leave for Uganda on Wednesday, with teacher Lesley Baker to attend a week's youth meeting.

They will be joined by students from two other Northamptonshire schools and will discuss a wide range of issues, including restorative justice, conflict resolution and social justice, with pupils from four Ugandan schools.

To enable the students to take part, the school organised a series of fundraising events which included cleaning cars, selling refreshments at the college sports day, a recital evening and a racing event.

The trip has also received funding from the Ferrers Sixth Form, East Northants Youth Council and Silverstone Circuit.

The conference has been organised by the Uganda-UK Schools Linking Partnership and will take place at the Discovery Centre in Jinja.
