Performers will offer audiences pantomime fun as well as the chance to beat the credit crunch.
Members of Rushden Amateur Theatrical Society will present Puss in Boots and are hoping families across the county will go along and save themselves a few pounds.

The show which includes Kim Bates as Puss, Holly Taylor as Fairy Feline and Nicola S
mithers as Princess Melissa, is more affordable than pantomimes on offer in other towns.

Society secretary Gillian Tidbury said: "We want to show people that even with the credit crunch they can still have a good time and there are things to do in Rushden.

"We are cheaper than other pantomimes and we put on a great show.

"We may not be in a proper theatre but we make the most of what we have and we will bring the audience closer to the action. Even though we are an amateur society, people can look forward to a fantastic performance.

"The costumes are going to be brilliant and the scenery is stunning, with a 7ft tall working water-wheel. It is going to be quite spectacular.""

The panto will be staged from Saturday, January 10, to Saturday, January 17, at the Pemberton Centre in HE Bates Way, Rushden. Evening performances will be held from Monday, January 12 at 7.15pm.

There will be matinees at 3.30pm on Saturday, January 10, and Sunday, January 11, and at 2.15pm on Saturday, January 17. Tickets cost £8 with £6 concessions.

Family tickets are £24 and Saturday evening seats are all £8.

Tickets will be available from December 6 from George Alan, High Street, Rushden, between 9am and 5pm Monday to Saturday. For more details call 01933 356500 after 4pm and on weekends.
