A fire at the property next door to the house where three-year-old Callum Bland died was not arson, an investigation has found.
Northamptonshire Police and the county fire service have said there is no evidence to suggest that the fire, which started in a shed outside the house in Fulmar Lane, Wellingborough, at the start of the month, was started deliberately.

The man who was arrested in connection with the incident has now been released without charge in connection with the blaze, which happened just before 3am on Friday, July 4.

The house was extensively damaged but the four men who were inside at the time escaped unhurt.

Inspector Dave Harley said: "We know that arson is a cause of concern for people living in the area so we are continuing to work hard with our partners to tackle the issue."

In June Northamptonshire Police – in conjunction with the Arson Task Force, Wellingborough Council and Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service – put a Hemmingwell Arson Reduction Strategy Action Plan into place, which they say has already started to have a positive effect.
