Police frogmen hunting for the body of murder victim Danny Hathaway have failed to find his body.
Divers searched a section of open water at Saddlebow, south of King's Lynn, Norfolk, on Tuesday and Wednesday, working on a tip-off that the father-of-two's body may have been weighted down and thrown in.
But although no trace of Mr Hathaway's body was found, Northamptonshire Police have not ruled out further searches of the site in the future.
Officers are today reviewing the situation and considering how to take the investigation forward.
Detective Inspector Rankin McCarrick, who was in charge of the searches, encouraged anyone who may still have information to call in.
He said: "We have been in touch with Danny's family and kept them fully up to date with how the search went. The thing we want most of all is to be able to find Danny's body and allow his family to bury him.
"We will consider to look at how best we can do that."
Mr Hathaway, a father-of-two, vanished from the new age travellers' site in Gretton Brook Road in February last year.
In May 2008, Tony Holland, 23, of Broadlands, Desborough, was convicted of his murder and that of another traveller, William O'Connor.
He is currently serving a life sentence for the killings.
Detectives revealed they went to speak to Holland in jail to try and get information about where he disposed of Mr Hathaway's body, but he refused to help.
They had hoped new intelligence would help them pinpoint where Mr Hathaway's body was.
Anyone with information that may help the police find Danny Hathaway's body can call Northamptonshire Police on 08453 700700 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
