A party night featuring one of the world's best Elvis performers will be held to raise £1,000 for a county children's charity.
Popular Northamptonshire singer The Rebel will perform as Elvis alongside Johnny Red, who will be appearing as Billy Fury and Shakin' Stevens.

The Elvis, Billy and Shaky Show will be held later this month to raise vital funds for Rushden-based cha
rity Zach's Helping Hand, which was set up in memory of two-year-old Zach Sanders, who died from a brain tumour in 2004.

The charity helps families of children with terminal or life-limiting illnesses.

Zach's Helping Hand has also recently bought three nebulisers for Kettering General Hospital and has paid the maintenance costs for seven others.

Charity member Mick Maher said: "Last year we held a fundraising concert with The Rebel which was a complete sell-out so we're hoping for a really good turnout again this time.

"Zach's Helping Hand makes a huge difference to the lives of many families.

"It has bought a caravan for families with terminally ill children at Butlins in Skegness which is all about giving them quality time together.

"We all hope we're never in this position but sadly some families are and we want to do what we can to help them."

Simon Patrick, of Wellingborough, made international headlines in 2007 when he beat thousands of Elvis performers from around the world to sing in front of the rock 'n' roll legend's daughter in an event to mark the 30th anniversary of the singer's death.

The fundraising show will be held at the Pemberton Centre in HE Bates Way, Rushden and will start at 7pm on Saturday, February 21.

During the show there will be a bouncy castle and a ball pit for young children, plus a raffle and a bar.

Tickets cost £5 for adults and youngsters over the age of 12 but children under 12 get in free.

Tickets are available from Pete Birrell on 07947 820891.
