e NHS Trust wants to improve its facilities for mental health and learning disability services on the Rushden site.
The trust is consulting on proposals for the redevelopment before submitting an outline planning application to East Northamptonshire Council.
The redevelopment involves a new resource centre for the local adult community mental health team, older people's community mental health team, child and adolescent and family mental health services, and community services for people with learning disabilities.
Some buildings on the site will be retained, including the GP practice and pharmacy, The Squirrels and The Martins.
David Bell, director of service development with Northamptonshire Healthcare, said: "The way health services operate has changed significantly in recent years and we are modernising many of our centres across the county.
"This is particularly important at Rushden Hospital where the main house, for example, has stood empty since 2007 because it is no longer suitable for modern health services.
"We also want to make sure that we get the right overall plan for the whole hospital site.
"This is why we are holding this event and inviting local people to come along and tell us what they think of our proposals."
The plans show how the trust wants to deliver health services on the site and protect land for future NHS requirements.
And they also show how remaining surplus land will be sold for development.
The proceeds from the sale will fund new healthcare facilities and improve existing services.
The public consultation will take place at the marquee in The Gables car park at the hospital in Wymington Road today from 2pm to 5pm, tomorrow from 10am to 8pm and Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
