The former Celebrity Big Brother contestent says the Poppies' backing for Palestinian charity Interpal means he will take a keen interest in the Northamptonshire club.

Poppies wore shirts promoting the charity during their third-round win over Eastwood Town on Saturday.

Galloway said: "It has struck me this year just how widespread support for the Palestinian cause has become, compared with three decades ago when you could put all the supporters of the Palestinian cause in a goal mouth and still have room for Stuart Pearce to score.

"The sponsorship of Kettering Town by the Palestinian charity Interpal is testimony to that. I hope it will be the beginning of a fruitful relationship between the club and the charity.

"One thing is for sure – Manchester United had better watch out, with Interpal on the away kit the global marketing arm of Kettering FC is going to take some beating!

"I've raised this sponsorship deal on my Talksport show and rest assured I will be taking a keen interest in the fortunes of Kettering Town from now on."

Poppies take on Fulham on the weekend of January 24/25.

Oh God. What is it about this club?
There is always a long line of jokers attaching themselves to it. It started years ago with that crook Mark English and a never ending stream of misfits culminating with the present regime and the Gazza/Kevin Wilson debacle and NOW Iraqi/Muslim/terrorist sympathiser George Galloway hops on the bandwagon.
What a club we have to be 'proud' of!

I am shocked that Kettering Town Football Club would have allowed this blatant political statement to be paraded on their shirts?!

On the whole Palestinian question, which I did once support, I am afraid I have since reversed my earlier support because of the clear terrorist motives in wanting to destroy the State of Israel.

Galloway and the other Hamas, terrorist supporters, must ask themselves this: who was it who broke the ceasefire with Israel, was firing shells and rockets into populated civilian areas for months, even years? The Iran supporting, Hamas, Gazan's, not Israel.

Israel has a perfect right to protect herself against terrorists as indeed we do.

Absolutely spot on Roberto.
Israel does have the right to protect against the terrorists. I actually like the Israeli attitude towards the rest of the Middle East states.
I am shocked too that Kettering are supporting this 'cause' and are allowed by the FA to have political statements emblazoned upon their shirts which by the way Ladak, should be RED, not BLACK.

A handful of Israelies dead and hundreds of Palestinians dead including women and kids. Not to mention the use of phosphous bombs and all bankrolled by the US - who like to spout words like democracy and freedom and then think it clever to approve of torture and extraordinary rendition. Ask yourself who is the bigger terrorist.

more dross. This charity supports innocent palestinian war victims, i.e AID! It is NOT a political movement. Sick and tired of uninformed biased comments from the usual suspects

I have always thought there was something not quite normal about George Galloway. By his linking himself to the Ploppies my suspicions have been confirmed.
I hope he has registered!
The authorities need a complete list of these mentally unstable people
