Police have revealed no offence was committed in the layby off the A45 last night.
Officers only reopened the road following its closure after a complaint about an assault on a woman was made last night.

Both carriageways were closed shortly after midnight in a layby near Stanwick Lakes.

The road was closed between Stanwick and the Chowns Mill roundabout and diversions were in place. It was reopened some time after 6am this morning.

But police revealed this afternoon they were satisfied no offence had been committed.
