The teenage star from Kettering is due to release her second album, Wonderland, on November 30, which is loosely based on Lewis Carroll's novel, Alice in Wonderland.

Faryl said: "The first album was an introduction – I'd never been in a studio before and suddenly there I was with an amazing orchestra, incredible musicians.

"I wanted to follow up that album as quickly as possible with another record, something richer and varied.

"I'm so proud of it. We called the album Wonderland after Alice In Wonderland.

"It is one of my favourite books, it's so dreamy and playful.

"That's something I like to hear in music. Whether I listen to Beyonce or Vivaldi, music is supposed to transport you away, escape from the everyday."

The album has been described as not just showcasing her voice, but taking listeners on a journey.

Wonderland producer Jon Cohen said: "Faryl is an outstanding talent. On this record we've really pushed the boundaries both in terms of the music and also Faryl's voice."

In February, Faryl's self-titled debut album was outselling U2, she inspired England's rugby players to victory by singing for 80,000 at Twickenham and she became the fastest-selling classical artist of all time.

Faryl fan Tom Mughal, 17, had the chance to listen to the new album ahead of its official release.

He said: "I think her voice is great and the songs are well arranged. I thought the layering of vocals on Barcarolle is good. I really enjoyed the album."

On Sunday, Faryl was honoured at The Variety Club's 57th Annual Showbiz Awards.

And on Friday she will head to Cardiff as part of this year's Children In Need appeal, before walking out in front of more that 80,000 people at Twickenham on Saturday – with fellow singer Hayley Westenra – for Jerusalem before singing the national anthem ahead of New Zealand singer Hayley singing the national anthem of her country.
