Playwrights Leisa Cooke & Mark Walker have written a stage adaptation of the Hollywood film Live, with support from Oscar winning producer Bill Guttentag. The show will premiere 9-12th May, at the Masque theatre, Barton Seagrave.

An Oscar-winning film director has given a Kettering-based theatrical group permission to stage an adaption of one of his Hollywood films.

Bill Guttentag has even said he will come and watch the opening performance of Live! by Bonkers Theatrical in Burton Latimer in May.

The theatre group will stage its version of the film, which stars Eva Mendes at the Masque theatre from May 10 to 12.

Director Mark Walker said: “I was watching the film one night and I thought it would make a great play, then when watching it a second time a few months later I emailed the director to ask.

“He got me to do a script which I then sent and got the nod from the production company. Now he says he’s coming to our opening night – we’re very excited.”
