Proud Mary singer at acoustic launch
Retrotonic's new acoustic nights continue next week with a performance from Proud Mary singer Greg Griffin.
Griffin, who mixes soul, blues and a good dose of rock and roll, was the first signing to Noel Gallagher's Sour Mash label and is currently on his UK solo tour.
With their roots lying in Manchester and named after a Creedance Clearwater Revival song, Proud Mary's first single, Very Best Friend, was a small taste of the infectious songs that the band had to offer.
Their debut album, The Same Old Blues, was produced by Noel Gallagher in just 10 days and released in 2001.
The influences of Dylan, The Rolling Stones and The Faces are all there to be heard.

Support on the night will be Chris Stocks and Velvet Engine.
Stocks has been the lead singer for The Good Die Young for the past three years.
The band has played festivals and supported the likes of The Charlatans, The Twang, Milburn, and Proud Mary.

The three play at The Black Bottom Club, Northampton, on Thursday.
Tickets cost 5 in advance.
