Musical icon performs live
Legendary singer-songwriter, author, poet and painter Bob Dylan plays in the region next week.
Born in Minnesota in 1941, Dylan has been described as one of the most influential figures of the 20th century, musically and culturally.
He has been a major figure in popular music for five decades with music encompassing folk and blues, pop and rock, including hits Blowin' in the Wind and The Times They Are a Changin'.
Dylan plays The NIA in Birmingham on Wednesday, April 29, having last played the venue in 2007.
During the 1960s his hits became anthems of the civil rights movements and of those opposed to the Vietnam War.
He has won numerous accolades for his work, including an Academy Award, and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
In 1965, Dylan caused controversy among folk fans with a performance at the Newport Folk Festival when he played with an electric blues band in concert for the first time.
His new album, Together Through Life, is released on Monday.
Its predecessor, Modern Times, was released in 2006 and was named album of the year by Rolling Stone magazine.
Tickets are available from 37 and are available by calling The Ticket Factory on 0844 33 88 000 or online at www.theticketfactory.com.
Doors open at 6pm and Dylan will take to the stage at 7.30pm.
