Enjoy the big screen in style

Get up close and personal to heartthrob Robert Pattinson or comedian Rowan Atkinson in the comfort of a newly refurbished cinema in Kettering.

Odeon has finished a £500,000 refurbishment of its cinema, in Pegasus Court, which now boasts premier seats in all eight screens.

The national cinema chain claims the new seats improve movie-watching comfort and guarantee the best views in each screen.

New toilet facilities and foyer flooring have also been installed, while the interiors have all been refreshed and lighting replaced.

It comes only months after the inema, opened in 1997, upgraded all its eight screens to show digital 3D films, ditching the 35mm film format.

The high-definition screens can show 3D films, live music shows and sporting events.

Simon Hopkins, of the Odeon kettering, said: “We’re thrilled to have received this significant investment. Our new premier seating is a marked improvement which we believe guests will find highly comfortable, particularly as it offers additional legroom.

“We’d like thank our guests for their patience over recent weeks as the work was carried out – and we look forward to welcoming guests back into our new look cinema in the coming months.

Nurse Sharon Kilmartin, 45, of Greenhill Road, Kettering, visited the cinema to see Tower Heist on Wednesday night. She said: “We chose to sit in the premier seats and we noticed a big difference, especially with the extra leg room.

“When watching a film you are sat still for more than two hours so it is important you are comfortable.

“It was worth paying the extra few quid for.”
