Run may become an annual event
Corby man wants to organise fun run for Lakelands: l-r Mark Martin and Paul Marlow. 19/01/12
A community-spirited individual is setting up a 10k and fun run event for Corby.
Mark Martin, 50, of Bulwick, is organising the event, which he hopes will take place in late May or early June.
About 40 people have already said they will take part.
The plan is for the race to start at the Rockingham Triangle and head off in the direction of Gretton. There will be a 10k race and a fun run.
The event will raise money for Lakelands Hospice, but people taking part will be able to fundraise for any cause.
Mr Martin said: “I would like it to become an annual event and get families involved.
“I just thought it would be nice to give something back. I am self-employed and I have a bit of time on my hands.
“I hope Corby as a community will benefit from it.”
