Did you know that just one month before the Government announced the closure of 20,000-plus post offices, it quietly removed the Post Office from the list of organisations required to abide by the Disability Discrimination Acts.
This clearly removed one very potent reason for not closing some post offices.

Did you know that when you signed a petition against a closure, and I suspect that this would apply to any petition, even if the petition had 10,000 signatures this counted as just one objection.

Add to this the Government's policy of "death by 1,000 cuts", removing much official business from the Post Office, and you will see the process was settled before any "consultations" could take place.

I wonder how many of our county MPs, especially those who voted for the closures to go ahead, knew of these facts?

I have no particular axe to grind. Our village post office remains open.
