People have been urged to attend meetings to discuss plans for 5,500 homes to the east of Kettering.
A series of meetings have been organised in Barton Seagrave, Burton Latimer, Ise Lodge, Cranford, Warkton and Grafton Underwood and Kettering to inform people about the proposals.

Kettering Council officers want to gauge public opinion to put toge
ther a design document for East Kettering and information about the current planning application for the site will also be available.

So far, public meetings have already been held at the Grange Extravaganza on Saturday and last night at Cranford Village Hall.

There will be seven more over the course of July and August, including two next week.

The first will be on Tuesday, July 15, from 5pm to 7pm at Warkton Village Hall.

Two days later, another meeting will be held on Thursday, July 17, from 5pm to 7pm at Grafton Underwood Village Hall.

Victoria Foley, of St Alban's Close, Ise Lodge, said she will be going to the meeting at Ise Pavilion later this month to find out more.

She said: "At the moment I'm not against the development because I don't know enough about it.

"I want to find out exactly what it is, where it's going to be and the affect on things like the existing roads.

"All I know is that there's plans for 5,500 homes around the Ise Lodge.

"I'm not sure if people's opposition would make any difference but if there's enough people, it might do."

Burton Latimer councillor Derek Zanger was briefed along with the rest of Burton Latimer Town Council at one of the first meetings last week.

He said: "It's very important that people go along to these meetings so that their concerns can be addressed.

"I believe this is the initial stage of the public consultation and people need to have their concerns heard.

"I believe a lot of people will be unhappy with these plans but I honestly believe that people can make a difference."

Thats 5,500 additional houses to depress local house prices even further. It looks like we're going to be building more houses and selling for less!

The consultation goes like this.
'do you agree with 5,500 houses being built?'
'No?'
'Yah getting them anyway'
