PROMOTERS of a Party in the Park event due to be held at Wicksteed Park say the two-day show has been cancelled.
Gary Mac, from the promotion company behind the September 12 and 13 event, contacted the Evening Telegraph yesterday afternoon to say the show had been cancelled due to the ill health of the promoter.

Apologising to those who had paid for tickets and who were looking forward to the show, he said: “The event is to be rescheduled for spring and those who have bought tickets will receive a full refund.

“We apologise for the inconvenience.

“We will be in touch early next year with full details.

“Once again, we are sorry for any disappointment this unavoidable postponement has caused.”

The event was due to be a weekend of live music with top Motown, Bee Gees and Abba tribute acts performing over two nights.

No-one from Wicksteed Park was available for comment.
