A cinema and pub will open until the small hours to give film fans the chance to be among the first to see the new Indiana Jones movie.
Hobson's Choice in Pegasus Court, Kettering, will open until 11.45pm on Wednesday, May 21, to give fans a place to wait in anticipation of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, as the Odeon is to screen the film for the first time at midnight.

The new film is the first Indiana Jones installment since 1989 and sees Harrison Ford reprise the lead role. Other famous faces in the film include Cate Blanchett and Ray Winstone.

Odeon Kettering general manager Kenny Simmons said: "Midnight first shows are rare as the film must be special enough to warrant it, but Indiana Jones falls into that category.

"Hobson's Choice will also get into the adventure spirit by staying open until 11.45pm on the Wednesday prior to the first show, and we'll run an Indiana Jones quiz in there – and there may be a few snakes."

Marketing manager Simon Hopkins said: "I often cite Raiders Of The Lost Ark as the perfect film, and it's easily one of my all-time favourites, so to say I'm keen to see the new adventure is quite an understatement.

"To continue the Indy fun over the bank holiday, we've booked a local snake expert to display live pythons in the foyer on Monday, May 26, and we invite our guests to be braver than Indy, who famously hates snakes."

Indiana Jones fan Paul Millen, of Orlingbury Road, Pytchley, said: "I'm quite excited about the film.

"It's a good idea to open at midnight because the film has been long awaited. My wife and I are going to see it as soon as possible."

Steve Purcell, of Northampton Road, Kettering, said: "Lots of people will want to see it, I am sure. Certainly there will be people who remember the first few films who will want to go along."

Tickets for the midnight show are on sale now at the Kettering box office, and self-confessed Indiana Jones superfan Jody Williams. was first in the queue.

Telephone 0870 22 44 007 or visit www.odeon.co.uk to booking tickets and for information.
