Matt Finlay had a mixed night as Wellingborough Town's winning run came to an end.

The Doughboys keeper made a magnificent save by pushing Paul Garrett's penalty onto the crossbar following an off-the-ball incident.

But three minutes later a mix-up between Finlay and captain Ross Harris gifted the equaliser to Stotfold – can
celling out Nick Mason's early opener when he converted the rebound from his spot-kick which was parried by Brad Gillham.

Last season's Eagle Bitter United Counties League Premier Division champions won it with six minutes left as Finlay could only knock the ball out for a simple tap-in.

That was an unfortunate finish to Wellingborough's spell of four successive wins with a clean sheet each time. They are back in action in the FA Vase at Royston Town on Saturday.

Desborough produced a good second-half comeback to beat Northampton Spencer.

Trailing at the break they hit back with goals from Ian Blaikie (73) and Tony Page (80) to deservedly take the points.

"We pressed hard in the second half," Ar Tarn assistant boss Frank Benjamin said. "We did well and were never really threatened at the back. But for a while it looked like being another one of those nights."

Rothwell Corinthians boss Frank Ielapi was left cursing another late goal as they drew 1-1 at Yaxley.

Neil Woolmer had put them ahead midway through the second half.
But, despite putting in a good team performance, they were pegged back for a draw in the 88th minute.

"We did well and it gives us something to build on," Ielapi said. "But a draw was probably a fair result."

It was a frustrating night for Raunds who went down at home to St Ives by a solitary goal.
