Rothwell Corinthians will be looking for an FA Cup tonic when they make
their debut in the famous competition tomorrow.
Corinthians have had a tough start to life in the Eagle Bitter UCL Premier Division with successive 5-0 defeats.

But that will be forgotten if they can write a successful chapter of
FA Cup history when they take on Southern Midlands League side

Longford in the extra preliminary round.

"We actually played them in the Hinchingbrooke Cup last year and we only lost 1-0 with a scratch side that included us having central defender in goal," said Corinthians assistant manager Paul Smith.

"The way we battled that day – and the positives we take from the first-half performance against Long Buckby in midweek – gives me confidence.

"Obviously, it's tremendous for the club that we are in something like the FA Cup. It's great to take on these different teams and enjoy these one-off occasions."

Corinthians are without Ben Emeney, Kevin Fox, Tony Ielapi (all banned), Tom Cross (unavailable) and Tom Johnson (groin). Sam
Johnson (hamstring) is doubtful so Matt Coles is added to the squad.

Rothwell Corinthians from: Wilson, Torrance, Deacon, Greensmith, B Johnson, Dunn, Bewers, Matt Coles, White, Woolmer, Briffa, Michael Coles, Morris, S Johnson, Roberts, Hay, Cooper.
